This is the jig that i use on the bandsaw for making my Celtic Cross pens. The mitre fence is a permanent fixture on the sled and set at 45° and can return to 90°. The toggle clam is used to hold a block of wood that is used for the stop, so that the blank returns to the same spot to do the cross cuts.

The toggle clamp is a good idea Jim, better than using an over the top G clamp or something similar, as they always seem to get in the way. :down:

How thick is the Ali?

Is the mitre fence attached to the Ali plate where you can see the hole in the top of the mitre fence ?

Mark the plate is 6mm think ... There is a double edge screw metal dowel screwed into the plate, this acts as a stop for both the 45° and 90° positions as well as tightening the mitre fence in position. :thumbs:
