Sorry I’ve been missing for a while but I have ongoing health issues. Last year my dad I was diagnosed with aggressive bladder cancer. I’ve had 2 operations and am on the verge of a 3 year course of therapy treatment.. I’ve also been going to the eye hospital every 4 weeks for treatment to my left eye. I’ve finally had the operation on my eye after waiting nearly 5 years. Not the fault of the NHS,I’ve been waiting for a cornea donor.It was a very complex procedure operation with 4 surgeons working on my eye doing repairs to the back of the eye culminating with a full corneal transplant. I feel like I’m hospital property. This is operation no. 11on my eyes. It’s nearly 2 years since I’ve made a pen because of all the hospital time and the effects of the treatment. I’ll plod on and eventually get back in harness.

So sorry to hear what you have been going through, fingers crossed for a positive outcome...I have missed your unique shape pens....no one does them like you or comes close.:yourtheman:

My buddy (3 weeks younger than me) had bladder and prostrate cancer just after he retired. After a strong course of chemo therapy they removed both and took a section of his small intestine to make a neobladder so he wouldn't have to wear a bag. It was a long healing process that included a heart attack along the way. None of it is fun but there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I hope your body gets to some semblance of normal so you can get back to doing the things that make you happy.

Thank you all for your kind good wishes, the are very much appreciated.
i have to say the NHS have been excellent. We only ever hear about the downside of the NHS butI have to say my treatment has & still is first class. Thank you NHS.👍

How did I miss this @Bill Mooney Glad to see you back again (no pun intended) Hope everything went well, and it helps you. Do not rush back into woodturning until all has healed properly, I am sure you don't want to go back to where you were.
I have been playing with metal lately, so no wood involved until the little engine is complete, and I need a base.
Take care and I look forward to some of your work when you are able to do so.
