    Salt and Pepper set

I have quite a few bowls balls so I set myself a task of making a salt and pepper set from just one of them. They measure 4 1/4" one way and 5" the other as they are not true circles, by cutting one in half I managed to get each pot from those and now they measure 2 1/4" each. The pots are...

    Unknow wood

Bowl from unknown wood possibly hawthorn I turned this yesterday but had to wait until today to complete the finish and remove the foot. Measures 8 1/2" X 2 1/4", I left the rim wide otherwise I would have lost a lot of the character of the wood even if I turned the blank the other way round

    Tool Steel

I know a number have made your own tools, but I just wanted to ask where you got the tool steel from, and whether as it seems HSS with 5% or above cobalt is the ideal choice. I have already bought the steel for the shafts and I feel confident in making up the handles :) . I was looking at 1/4" x...
  13. Penpal

Which bandsaw blade for acrylic blanks

After busting my bandsaw blade which incidentally used to cut my acrylic blanks a treat I went ahead and order what I thought was the same type blade (6 tpi x 1/4 in) off the internet. Turns out I ordered something that lumberjacks use for cutting down giant redwoods ! It looks more like a rip...
