    First attempt with this medium

    Recently I got sent a 1mm thick piece of synthetic opal to try to incorporate into a pen. 1mm is the thickness of the opal rings at the ends, though I found it really difficult to set into the sides lengthwise. It took careful measuring, though I'm sure there may be a better way. The sparkle...

    Harder than it looks

    Hi all, Sooner or later I was going to try this and so today seemed as good as any to start! As you can see I am attempting a celtic knot ( 'not' being very appropriate) I have about 15 bland Walnut blanks to try with, I am hoping that it won't take that many.... So all started well, with a 1mm...
