Enjoyed making these this morning, although the Spalted Cherry was a little more spalted than I thought. Plenty of CA held it together though. left to right - 2 x African Mahogany from a 1950 Rail carriage. Laburnum, Bog Oak and then the Spalted Cherry. Loving the Mistral in Gun metal & Bog...

It's been a while since I turned a pen. Good to know I haven't lost my touch. This is a chrome Calypso from Woodturningz. The wood is African mahogany, I believe. Subtle grain, but I like that. The finish is Watco Danish oil.

Just finishes my first Beaufort Kit - Its a Mistral Ballpoint gold in African Blackwood finished in Melamine Gloss Lacquer burnished with Meguiars fine finishing compound. Really lovely kit of nice quality - think I will try the fountain pen next. (Not sure why my images are coming in upside down?)
