SO the jam-jig I used to make this apple took more time, attempts and effort than the actual apple - but my first fruit and I'm pretty happy with it!

I have just been given some apple tree branches, well four mini logs/branches if the truth be known.
Apparently they have been drying for some time and there is evidence of tearing, I have no idea how deep.
I aim to keep one and the other three can be split...

Here is a Sue Mey pattern.
I decided to go with a natural edge on this occasion, maybe I will do the coat hanger in the future.
A very nice and easy pattern to cut.
I used Apple which I planed down to 6mm.

The wife said it would be a good idea for me to make some fruit so I did.
Made from Yew, Walnut, London Plain and Apple. The finish was kept simple with sander sealer and buffed with carnauba wax.
The ornamental Apple tree in the front garden was felled last Friday due to it being dead or dying.
Couldn't resist turning a little bit yesterday afternoon, and after a few coats of food safe oil it should be properly dry tomorrow.
