Never made one before. The stem was taken from a firewood pile.....no idea what it is though.....could be Chestnut,,,not sure and the base is from a small Ash bowl blank. And it works too......:banana::banana:

Had an odd bit of wood I think it's Yew not sure it was very hard, had to keep sharpening my tools as I turned it and put it on an Oak base.Not sure what you may call it. Wife took one look and claimed it :thumbs:
