Did a few turnings this morning and came out with the following pens.
First one is an Omega FP and second one Omega RB, both are dressed with masur birch, finish is melamine lacquer.

Finally got to sort out the drying shed. Stuff gets put in stick and not touching, but once it loses enough moisture it can be stacked up making more room for more wood. Had a load of Silver Birch and Sycamore hogging the shelves which has now been moved. Silver Birch has either been turned or...

Just finished this vessel where the body is made of Birch and the insert ring made from what I think is a piece of Sapele.
Finished with 6 coats of finishing oil and then buffed.

This is a silver birch bowl that I rough turned some months back, got it finished this morning. its 260mm diameter x 85mm high, finish is food safe oil, c&c welcome.

I've got this largish limb to remove of this Silver Birch tree!
Is silver birch any good for turning or do I just cut it up for firewood? I get the impression Silver Birch is prety boring/non interesting timber?
