Hi All,
I'm not a dinosaur and I do like to be in with the trends, but I have never really been a fan of tct turning chisels. I bought a square mini one from Easy turn years ago used it a couple of times and went 'Nah' don't get me wrong I know how to sharpen a skew or gouge so I'm not looking...
Hi there. I'm Tony. I have been spending money fast - sorry, I mean woodturning! - for about 4 years now. I started as a result of encouragement from my wife, believe it or not. She and a lady friend bought an evening's pen turning nearby for their respective husbands for Christmas. We both...
So this is my first attempt at casting my own blank. Alan Morrison kindly sent me a casting mould he hadn't used for free which spurred me on to give it a go. Unhappy with bought glitter blanks, I made my own and I'm very very pleased with the result.
In a bit of purple patch and enjoying turning out one every couple of days.
I'm afraid there are a few technical issues here - finishing, cap threading and photography - but not especially fussed - I think I know where the problems lie and will work them out sooner or later.

I found I couldn’t get the angle I wanted on one of my gouges the other day as it’s somewhat shorter than when I bought it. I could adjust the angle of the gouge holder but I like the simplicity of just setting the tool extension and placing the holder in the Boss. The middle one is the standard...

5 1/2" x 1 3/4" The tree was in our front garden when we bought the house in 1991 but it had to come down in January as it was at its natural end.
Hi all,
Thought I would have a go at staining some blanks. This is (I think) is Burr Elm. I placed it is some Cactus Juice under ]vacuum with some red colouring bought from Metal Clay.
It did not come out as uniformly coloured as I would have liked, definitly unique.
Cheers,
Frederick...
