    Hex plus pocket clip

I’ve shown a few of these hexagonal pens before but one of the tricky elements I hadn’t shared was adding a pocket clip. I typically use the hidden ring approach and cut a small notch in the cap to allow the clip bar to pass through. That’s pretty straightforward on cylindrical shaped pens as...

    Bullet case pens

Hi All, As you know I like a bullet case pen or two.... Good sellers for me:thumbs: So we have 2x. 338 Lapua magnum cases being used These were made on my wood lathe with a 4 jaw chuck... Make sure the cases are 'fired' chuck one up and drill the back (primer end) to take an Omega body tube...

    First Cyclone

New kit to me, and I really like the kit, just a shame the cap isn't postable! Regards Padster

    Had a blow out

Just finishing, with one last turn and Bang. Hadnt happened for years..... so I'm putting it down to a crack and not me! I had to turn the cap off and lucky enough I had just enough Desert Ironwood to do the cap with cap ends of Acacia. Majestic Jnr. kit.

    Conway Stewart

Hi all, No1 for today's offerings is this TM Epsilon with a Cs blank I managed to squeeze out.... Its OD was spot on finish size so just a polish on the cap end:ciggrin: I do love this stuff, if it wasn't so awkward!

    Coolmint

Hi pen people When I first started making pens I used to think it was important to try to "hide my workings", especially when using transparent or semi-transparent materials. I didn't like the fact, for example, that you may see the dark underside of the feed through the thin wall of a pen cap...

    English Field Maple

Hi pen people. I got hold of a really nice looking bit of dyed and stabilised maple and made this pen. It has sterling silver and sage green accents. The dye used was a teal colour, which is quite vivid in places, but it also has darker green hues along with the natural colour of the wood. I...

    Spalted Hackberry

Hi all, Yes I checked the spelling this time, Hackberry.... New to me but I like it.... I need to push the middle fitting in the cap a bit more, only noticed looking at the picture :vangry:

    Black Dyed Buckeye

Greetings pen people. Made this today. The wood is dyed and stabilised buckeye burr from a batch of different coloured blanks I bought off a guy on Facebook. The threads and finials are cellulose acetate and the accents & logo coin are sterling silver. Fitted with a Bock nib. I always fully...

    Empress in Wenge

I just finished this one, love large pens but dislike kits where the cap can't be placed on the end! Regards Padster

    A Right Old Pigs Ear

Made a Celtic pen using callipers once again, I struggle so much getting the measurements of the blanks spot on :sob: This pen is plagued with problems, one of them just makes no sense what's so ever to me. One end of the blank is level with the tip whilst the other end goes over to one side...

    Brown and Teal

Another pen made from vintage cellulose. This one has a number 5 Bock nib as the material was a little on the slim side and I couldn’t get a cap out if it that would be big enough to take a no6. Cheers Ash

    Green maple burr

Hi pen people I posted a similar pen to this in purple a little while back. This is the green version which, instead of acrylic, has ebonite threads and section. It also has an ebonite finial on the barrel. This allows me to make a compete pen from a single wooden blank (they are quite pricey)...

    Slim stock

Hello pen people I’ve managed to acquire quite a lot of vintage (I overuse that word) cellulose acetate stock. I know some of you will be familiar with it and it’s lovely stuff. However there is a small problem in that it comes round and drilled, and the outside diameter is already very close...

    Kingwood

My new favourite wood (until the next one I make). Kingwood and cellulose acetate. This is the first pen I have made where the cap is fully sleeved. What I mean is that inside the cap is an entire lining made from the cellulose, forming a complete barrier between the wood and the nib, like the...

CA Glue to resolve threading issue

Sorry if this has been asked before. I have trawled previous post but have not been able to find an answer. For some reason, the cap thread on a recent kitless pen is lose for the corresponding cut barrel thread. It does not screw on, rather it just slips on. I have CA glued the Cap, tapped...

    Ebony and ...

Ebony pen with a bit of orange pearl and ivory (how could I not?) coloured acrylic . It has a cellulose acetate section and cap threads, which are 13mm Ø. I've mentioned before that I had developed a "splat" logo during lockdown, and this pen has a sterling silver logo coin in the cap end plus...
