This is a follow on from a request I made here few months ago to have some engraving done. Gareth Ritter came through and did the engraving. Very impressed indeed.
The pens have a Bock #5 nib and the wood is Bethlehem Olive - as it says on the postmark on the box from Israel.

Not been around for a few weeks no input or out put??
Have just finished these for a neighbour wanting xmas presents.
What do you use to infill if you want the engraving to feel flush. Or to colour it.
But the way these are using the Prokraft elliot click pen.
Hi,
We've just invested in a little laser engraver.
My query is, when in the pen-making process is it best to do the engraving?
Would the finish be spoilt by the heat?
Thanks in advance

Hi all,
Well this was a new take on an old trick....I had some laser engraving done on two separate pens, customer's names. It was very nicely done but a little deep( tube just showing) so I thought about an infill. I have never used Milliput before, but certainly will again.....very easy to...
Hi all,

Having spent...
Hopefully this picture might be a little better, thanks to Derek. I made this for my Daughter's wedding. I wanted to put waterslide transfers on the cap but it did not look too good, so
I will have to find some other way of engraving.

Hi all
I have been thinking a lot about pen engraving and lasers. There are a few youtube videos but I would like to know more. Knowing me, I will probably tattoo myself:rolling:
If anyone has any ideas on the best make of machine, type etc. I would be very grateful.
Cheers

First the background, then the question.
A couple of weeks ago I saw a news item about the rescue (and planned restoration) of one of the Dunkirk Little Ships which had been abandoned and was being vandalised and scavenged for firewood on Canvey Island. A rescue group (soon to become a trust)...
That got you looking didn't it..:face:
What the hell are FOTB and BM boxes, well they are here..

I have been asked on many occasions to do engraving on to wooden boxes or on to pens.
The latter I have always resisted as the pen just becomes another "engraved pen" that can be brought from any big suppliers for a few pence.
I have been working with a friend that has a C02 engraver but has...
