    Still around

Hi All, Been a while since I was last here. Times were hectic with a lot of production work. Then came the July violence with burning and looting of shops which slowed everything down. Am now quiet as business is trying to recover from the mayhem. Production work has stopped as business recovers...

    1st real bowl

5 in x 2 in. Quarter sawn English oak, a very hard & dense blank to turn. After trying all my tools (rather aggressive in such a small piece) I used my Sorby micro modular toolset on it and I must say that they worked a treat - the tiny hollowing tool removes a fair amount of wood without...

    Attended a craft fair today

This was my third craft fair and I've done pretty well at all three. The thing I find strange is that I sell mainly slimline pens, rarely do I sell a Zeta, Epsilon, Sierra, Cigar or similar. In fact at all three fairs I've sold just one Epsilon, all the rest have been slims. I don't think my...

Thank you so much Mr Mooney

For the first time ever Vic has let me have access to the Forum. I received a fantastic gift in the post yesterday. Bill sent me a pen that he had made from a piece of 1000 year old Oak from Durham Cathedral. Being a Durham Lass or perhaps an Old Girl now, it was such a pleasure to receive such...

    Fairs Fair You Blokes.

Fairs fair you blokes, I don't mind you using my gear in the shed, but bloody hell, clean up after yourselves. This is what I found when I opened my shed after I got back from my mother in laws funeral (6510 km) trip. After all I would NEVER leave it like this.:whistling::whistling:
