SO the jam-jig I used to make this apple took more time, attempts and effort than the actual apple - but my first fruit and I'm pretty happy with it!

Hi all,
This is the last Levech I have turned with a PSI double dyed Maple blank. It has a very deep dark blue colour and was a pain to finish showing every mark or scratch... Happy now but had to take a picture in the sun as it absorbs light and you can't see the details in it.
[
Drilled out the blank to fit the Mt kunlun kit... Took most of the scales with it... Not a happy bunny. Spose I'll have to try my hand at carving now :sob:
Another first for me - I used some deep pour resin on pine cones. The type used is not supposed to require a pressure pot or anything external, just mixing and pour leave 5-7 days.
Well there were more bubbles than I care to admit and turning it was....challenging for my ability.
I thought...
Bit of a risk as I think Wenge is a difficult wood (Colour wise) to look good on pens and the pen choice is also something that needs to be looked at with this wood.
I think I have done well with it but I am happy to hear your views.
cast this one myself in a home made mold, ok, the colour aint what i envisaged, but non the less, im proud of it..
happy to hear any criticism or advice
To all my new family on here.
A happy Christmas and prosperous new year to you all.
A nice seasonal carol for you to listen to and get the feet tapping and the hips swaying
Ok maybe it's not a carol but then it's not Christmas without it.
