    Hello all, Now that I don't have to wear artic survival kit in the workshop lately, I though I would try something I have never tried before. I wonder which way up these pictures will show. Took a few days doing the hollowing. I think the wood is Hornbeam. It was very white in places...

    A slimline.....again, dressed in what was labelled hornbeam. What a nice surprise to see the black grain.

    Beaufort Sirocco in spalted hornbeam

    One of the new Sirocco pen kits in spalted hornbeam, with black chrome fittings. It's finished with melamine lacquer. The hornbeam is pretty far gone, and sadly a bit soft under the abrasives, so my nicely conceived profile ended up a bit thinner at it's waist than I'd planned, but thankfully...
