    Jiggling about

Done a little bit of jiggling about this morning. Made a small jig for the drill press. This jig will keep the blank square and stable whilst drilling. I hope to put it through it's paces over the weekend. Feel free to copy it :ciggrin::ciggrin:

    Love 'em or Loathe 'em

Love 'em or loathe 'em jigs play such an important role in our pen making lives. They have one thing to do and that is to make a particular chosen task easier to do. Jigs are becoming more and more commercialised these days and companies pit their jigs against each other to win the lions share...

    Bridge city

Hi all, An idea I have had, OKAY maybe not the best but I'll run with it.... This is the Bridge city sled plane, designed to run on/with their chopstick master jig..... Well my thoughts are to use a spare mandrel and with it mounted in an indexing jig, use the depth stop on the plane to produce...

    Fresh from the workshop

My new Sphere turning jig. The design is largely due to materials I happened to have to hand. It can turn Spheres up to about 8” diameter.

    Jigs for turning

I am starting another turning project and realised that I need some way of holding a sphere so that I can hollow them. If the wood was large enough I could have hollowed after turning the outside. Anyway around the problem is a doughnut jig, while I am at it some kind gentleman from another...

    Router Jig

Thought I would take a break from the waggon and make a router jig to use on the lathe as I have a few ideas that I want to try. Managed to cut a few parts ready for it as well as a bed for it to run on. Still some cut outs to make before assembly comences

    Tool heaven

I thought I would share a little story of determination - I often lack some skill, I openly admit that, and sometimes wonder, when I see some other fantastic creations people make, why I bother at all but on this occasion things were a bit different. I had previously made a sharpening jig from...

Gun metal Tempest in Black Wattle

Managed to get this done today, was going to do more hexagonal but decided to build a new jig in between doing this pen. Hopefully more of the outcomes of that another day. This is the first Tempest I have done, very impressed with the fittings and feel of the finish of the parts.. Click feels...

    Hexagonal slimline

Well I managed to get some time in the workshop today with allot of intentions of turning. This was the result of my days work, well if you can call 12:00 to 16:00 with plenty of sit down breaks..:rolling: I had originally planned to do some slimlines just to ease myself back in to the fold...

    Wheelie's

After a week of making a jig I have now completed the front wheels for the half track I am working on. As I enjoy making wooden toys/models it will not go to waste. A quick pic of the jig and then the wheels followed by one of them dry fitted to the chassis, I lost count of the number of parts...

    Off centre turning jig.

I've always been interested in off centre tilted turning but haven't done much lately because of safety issues. I saw a demo at our club this month by Rick Dobney & he did some off centre work using a home made jig. We were so impressed my son in law & I have made a jig each, his 10" diameter &...
