You never quite know how these blanks will turn out, this was a stabilised blue maple burl that was very very dark before I started turning it, only for it to change massively on the finished pen. Regards Padster

Hi all Another wood/acrylic combo, this time in a blue maple burr with sky blue pearl section, threads and finials. It has silver accent rings and a Jowo no6 nib. The pen is fully lined in both barrel and cap. This wood is stabilised (I buy it like that) and I finish using the melamine...

Knot on maple using mahogany and maple veneers. Etesia pen kit from Beaufort Ink.

Knots cut on bandsaw on a piece of mahogany and set into maple using a hole saw. Also photo of the backside of the knots.

A few weeks back Terry Q posted some stabilised spalted maple for sale on here so I gave to a go and it arrived a couple of days ago. Its really lovely stuff and I wish I had asked for more. Anyway thanks Terry, and here is what I made with it. Cheers Ash

Here is my latest pens turned in acrylic and glued with coloured epoxy two pack glue. I was going to turn this in field maple burl but Mark beat me too it with the same pens great minds Thank you for looking C&C welcome James:wink::wink:
