Another fine blank from Mr Herrington. Pine cone in PR on a gold and ti Sierra.
I left the tube and the inside of the blank unpainted to let the brass show through giving a sort of retro look because the colours reminded me of Christmas in the 1950s. C&C welcome on this unorthodox approach but...
Hi,
Meet the giant pen that I've just finished, it's a 3x scale replica of a TM Premium Zeta in full rhodium. It's 40 cms long and weighs in at 630 grams so it's a beast to try writing with, yes, it actually has a ink cartridge fitted, the main barrel is made from a large pine cone and resin...

Hi all, Some might know I work at a school.... Well this week I was asked by a parent if we wanted some "free wood" apparently he runs his own joinery company, well rude not to accept then.....
If I go can I get first dibbs??
What I collected was already on a pallet and loaded via forklift...
Or is it Parana pine????
A friend of mine has just given me two good sized off cuts and it may be just thick enough for a few pen blanks. Has anyone worked with it and does it turn / finish ok?
Cheers,
Steve.
