Hi
Had a go at turning something square .... I think...Hope this can be classed as a platter...
This is made using old t shirt and then Powertex to form the texture with dry brush painting and in this case a little JoSonja Pearl dust.
Debate begins lol:banana:

A couple of bowls and a platter.
For the first time in over 10 years I had to buy blanks for the bowls!:rolling:
Ash natural edge 12" x 5"
Beech 11 3/4" x 4"
And finally a Silver Birch Platter 18" x 1 1/2"
Hi all
Hope this is of interest...a video I made this afternoon about how I use spirit stains to colour the rim of a platter...
Airbrushed Platter Rim - YouTube
Last turned platter from spalted beech, just fine sanded but no finish on it yet. Depends of the final use, melamine or food safe finish.
Diameter is 290 mm and 50 mm high.
Had a great play for an hour this afternoon and made a 16" platter out of a piece of Oak worktop that my mate Brian (Grunp) gave me this will be sold or sent for our veterans all I have to do over the next few days is spray it
