Can anyone point me in the right direction on where to buy a quality metal keyring ring so that i can make three personalised wooden keyrings. I have found plenty out there but the quality is not good enough to supply with the three pens that I am making. Many thanks.
Had this Spalted Cherry sitting around teasing me for a few years now. Far to punky to use as it was, but at last I got set up to stabilise it.
I am rather pleased with the results and have plenty more to play with. And it helped me relax for 20 mins this afternoon before a busy weekend kicks off.
Well, the loco is, at last, finished all except some rails for it to sit on.
Plenty of turning in this one either single pieces or multiples like the wheels.
Just wondering if anyone has turned DENA wood. It must be one of the hardest woods around. If you want to practice sharpening gouges just use this wood. Gouges need plenty of sharpening every couple of minutes.
Hi all,
What a great way to spend a Saturday. These are the first hybred blanks I have made. Looking forward to making more; plenty of ideas in my head.
Cheers

Feeling rather sorry for myself at the minute. Just been discharged from hospital following a total knee replacement. Should have plenty of time to catch up with forum chit chat:sob::sob::sob::sob::sob::sob:
Have been promising to sort some seats for the garden and have finally sorted it so hopefully I have plenty of credits to my name!!
maybe even enough for a pressure pot!!! we will see. Or at least a bandsaw ?
A little re-stock. These are not meant to be all the same in size but they do use some of the scrap pieces of wood up. Still need at least another 6 so that I have plenty of spares.
Well patience ran out and I had to try one of the blanks I made a few days ago.
Helped by the fact I cut some of the cherry logs I have and they are just as good so plenty to go at.
Finished in wax to show a customer who has ordered a pair of Mistrals in the same wood and finish.
Not the best...
