    One of the possibles I showed recently from the shoe box. I misremembered thinking South Australian, then South Africa, then South America Dalbergia. As I turned it opened up. Thrilled with grain and colour in the pen. Peter.:thumbs:

    Lignum vitae

    This timber has been listed on the Cities restricted list like many timbers treated this way these days.It turns,belieing its reputation as the heaviest and hardest of timbers. My first pen of Lignum was a scrap from a Ships bearing supporting the drive shaft after forty years. Peter.
