into the reams of off centre turning...quite pleased with it TBH
it did come off the lathe once and cracked, but it was never intended as a finished piece so no biggie..
it think its sapele, could be wrong though
As in the intro thread - a friend showed me how to make pens which has led to an order for kit going in and a new part to my hobby for the future...
This is the first pen I did (Sapele) - seems to work as a pen! :)
So here is the second major pressie, this one for my daughter, she choose Teak and some Sapele there wasn't going to be enough teak so I got more Sapele as no where local had any affordable teak!
The wood used was all from the same batch and I've not treated any of differently, the middle shelf...
Lots of lessons learnt again with this one, the main one being read the instructions before starting.
If you don't have the instructions (as was my case) then find them on the interweb thingy and print them off.
First time I have done this type of pen and I have actually managed to split it...
My old mum asked me to make a small box she can carry in her handbag for her medication. Having no chuck i had to mess about to turn this. Think the wood is sapele but may be wrong. Think I need to get some proper finishing products for this type of work any suggestions welcome.

I'm new to turning, but am pretty pleased with bowl 3 and 4, and really excited about my next creation, on the lathe now.
Inspired by YouTuber Jim Overton it's sapele with a laser cut acrylic inlay miliput.
