What do I do with it (Take 2)

Morning all, Remember the bowl I went through the bottom of, well, this is what I did with it. The problem is, what do I do with it now? I enjoyed doing it and the practice served me well but I can't see a use for it. Open to any (polite :funny: ) ideas of course I suppose I could stick a tea...

Funnily the wife loves it will have to take the white stick off of her and beat her around the head:funny: Silly comments...

Are there woods that we shouldn't use?

As we use a CA, wax, melamine to finish our wooden pens and people usually stick a pen in their mouths, are there woods or even finishes that we shouldn't use? Dave

    What do you do?

What do you do with offcuts of burr that are too small to even make pen blanks? Drill a hole in them with a Forstner bit and stick a tealight in.

    brass walking stick handle

Hi All, I made a friend a walking stick some time ago. It had a brass handle and a brass spigot/joint in the middle of the Oak stick with a rubber cover at the bottom that you took off to show a brass point which was a help in winter weather. I want to make another but I can't find a stockist. I...

    Thumb stick

Not made a stick for a while so this was a pleasant diversion. Points cut off the antler and replaced with African Blackwood, domed to prevent injury. Shaft is hazel with a solid nickel collar to hide the joint as it's impossible to get an exact cross section match with antler. Could someone...

    Stained Pot

I made another needle pot but this time I thought I'd give my pyrography iron a rest and attack it with some stains. I am so pleased with the result I've tried it on a pen. Ill stick the pictures of the pen on the wooden pens forum. Thanks for looking, George

    Which glue for segmenting?

I was wondering which glues people are using for their segmenting work? I want to segment wood, acrylic and possibly metal. I've tried CA, but managed to stick more of myself than the blank! :rolling:

    Yew"L"tide!

I did some of these for a bit of fun, now people are ordering them!:thinks: Yew branch wood put together with lengths of Kebab skewers, which are approx 1/8" (3.2mm). Noses are orange dyed Kebab stick and the buttons are some textile eyelets I already had, which were also 3.2mm.

    My First Pen

Hi, My first pen...not as good as others, but can only get better :-) Not sure of wood though, could bluff and say it is spalted beech! - though I stand corrected. May try another, I think I would like it shinier (I was using Carbundum wax stick, though not sure if I had applied correctly...
