Todays question is about Ebony.
I have a small amount of Ebony that was kindly donated to me, It arrived full of tears (or is it tares?) that I have cut away and I am left with enough blanks to do 2 x Slimline and 2 x any pen type.
So that leaves me very little room to make pens out of them in...
Had a bit of time today so I went to dad's and turned and finished a pen, whilst he watched, I then set one up for him and left it to him and went home. He cme over a couple hours later with his finished pen, he's 82 and it's only his second pen ever
Here's a pen I turned from one of the Ukraine fundraiser blanks. It took me about 4 times as long to make as they ever used to, but I did manage not cock it up.:banana:

I made some pens for them to raffle. I did the same last year.
I used some of Pauls blanks. (Pen Blanks and moulds) They turned and polished really well.

I was asked to make a bowl as a retirement present for the outgoing Chairman of Blind Veterans UK. & our own Neil Lawton kindly donated an elm burr. The bowl is 12”” diameter x 4” deep & is finished with sanding sealer & microcrystalline wax.
