Yep I turned a new pen this weekend much easier than my last pen (haha) anyway here it is CA finish with sanding up to 2000 wet and dry then polished with three mop system as always C&C welcome. James :goesred:

Hi all, Four nice wet blanks that I cut today. Going to wet turn them this afternoon, put them in a bag with shavings and leave for a while. Hopefully they will turn out ok as, I think, the grain looks great. I think they're Oak, but not too sure. I though Corona was a drink ...... Cheers...

Got a day off and this happens, too cold and wet to go out to the shed. Oh well guess I will have to put on a shirt and brave it.:face::funny:

Well turned this today again not a fantastic blank but I turned it a lot faster than my previous ones. Didn't crater as much but still sanded wet from 180 through the wet n dry grades and finished with micro mesh and buffed with blue towel.

Managed to get in the shed again, happy with the result using a fancy slimline from penkitzandbitz. Tried wet and dry then micro mesh and though not perfect I think it's better than my first attempt.

Small Oak Vase. I picked this piece of Oak up and started to turn it for another project that is going to be decorated all over, but when I rough turned it to allow it to do any moving before making the piece in question I discovered that the grain although quite straight wa to good to cover up...

I just received some blanks this morning...and it may just be the cold weather...but they feel slightly damp. I won't know for sure until Ive measured them with a moisture meter...which Im just about to go and buy. However, it got me thinking...is there a way to dry blanks if they are too wet...

A friend of mine prefers a dull finish on his pens. Is here a method for doing this besides wet sanding without polishing? I'm afraid it might leave visible scratches.
