Does anyone on here turn rings? I'm thinking of adding them to my repertoire, but being a cheapskate wondering if there are other ways than having to buy a ring mandrel & ring boring head
Curious to understand what speed range people here use to turn pens.
I work between 550 for roughing out a blank up to 1750 for sanding and friction polish.
Just wondering whether it would be worth changing the belt and moving to a higher speed range.

A local store is selling Mopani wood which has been cleaned etc. It would look OK if cast in a hybrid pen blank. I was wondering if anyone has made any pen blanks out of this root or cast it in some resin.
