Well it seems as though my new hobby of 3D printing is not as easy as I thought.
Printed this goose,
It looks to me as though it is wrong,
Can't for the life of me think what it is :funny:

Hi all,

So the curse of Garno strikes yet again :vangry:
Doing a "Loong Dragon Pen"
Picked a nice resin blank
Drilled a hole "Dead centre"
Cleaned it out nicely
Tested the tube fitting, absolutely spot on, like a foot in a sock.
Glued said tube into the blank making sure the glue fully covered the...
Even after many years of turning it can go wrong whiled turning an 18” platter first I went to thin and hit the chucking recess but thought finish it and make a bung but while still sanding a few cracks that were in the wood to stat with decided to have a party lol more fire wood lol
Got fed up with the CA sticking to the tube inserter so made this.
Dead easy job that only I can turn into something difficult.
I tried to turn the PE HDPE without putting it on a mandrel and without a live centre, Ended up like a dogs dinner.
I ended up trying to rectify doing things wrong...
I am fairly new to pen turning I watched a review on youtube of a guy that has been making pens for about the same length of time as me. All though to give him his due he is making kitless/bespoke pens. I could not believe that people are buying them for £125 plus.
I am obviously doing something...
Well, I was asked to do an emblem pen as below. Scott Walker ( Mr Resin....Sawes) cast a few for me. Now my dilemma..... If I use a white blank for the bottom will it look wrong/ cheap/ tacky. I have used a piece of maple and TBH really like it. ( No wrong answers, just opinions)
I bought an old penturners stock a while ago and now all the blanks and kits have been used.....so I am onto the predrilled/tubed blanks that he prepared....
I have to say I quite like this one it has grey patches in it too, but you can't go wrong with red and black!!
Here’s a little matching pair.
Bolt action Pen in a nice acrylic with a shotgun cartridge matching
keyring with the leftover blank. And yes I know the pin is at the wrong end,
as I drilled the brass to fit the ring holder I didn’t want to waste it.
I've turned two of these Classic Elite Fountain pens and on both of them the thread inside the "centre band" has either come out completely or stripped the thread.
Does anyone have any idea what I might be doing wrong? Or is it likely to be the quality of the kit?
Thanks in advance
Hi All,
I have only just noticed that I have the Help 4 Heroes colours in the wrong order.:rolling:
Oh well the next one will be correct.
The wood was marked up as Fruit Mallee. Great wood to turn.
The Leveche is another super quality kit from Beaufort Ink.
Leveche Help for Heroes Pen. -...
My first Minstrel pen kit. I got the centre band in the wrong location and I can not seat the piece that sits on top of the cap fully obviously I am doing something wrong. But what ever I would certainly do another one.
My old mum asked me to make a small box she can carry in her handbag for her medication. Having no chuck i had to mess about to turn this. Think the wood is sapele but may be wrong. Think I need to get some proper finishing products for this type of work any suggestions welcome.

I have, as a newby to all this been trying to practice hollowing things (small scale) then thought what would happen if I mixed wood and an offcut of acrylic...
PS I know what’s wrong with it but what the hell it was fun to learn on small bits of wood and off cuts...
