I have an upgraded CL3. Apart from the initial problem I had with 3 or 4 motors not working it has done everything I have thrown at it.
It has the proper stand but unless you bolt it down it will still bounce around a bit if your spinning an out of true blank too fast.

I upgraded mine by watching ebay & gumtree etc. Saw an upgraded CL3 for sale, bought it, changed the VS motor for my motor and then sold it on again minus the VS unit.
Oh & I got a Supernova 2 chuck in with the deal too.
Total cost to me for the VS unit & chuck, after I had sold the other CL3 - £110.
So if you're patient and keep an eye out you could upgrade your CL3 for a fraction of a new VS unit.
