I haven't got a clue what the timber is. All I know is that it was the top of a large coffee table that found its way over here from South Africa.

The piece certainly tested my vacuum chuck out !

It is just over 16" in diam and varies from 1/4" thick on the edges to 1/2" thick in the centre of the plate

Any help with the identification of the timber would be great.

I had better mention that Nigel provided the wood I believe it was brought over from South Africa by his sisters In laws.

Quite a feat mate good old Nigel came through with the makings and there right up front is the proof mate Jubilation, result is on the table, having turned yourself into a great position you snuk up on this one braveheart defies defeat.

Its a wrap ,the shouting dies down and the result is in the board.

Peter.
