1st attempt

Ok, it had to happen eventually and today is the day

I have 3 tubes in the pot and have read all of the advice regarding casting and getting the tubes right, what to do, what not to do etc etc
It’s now a waiting game to see what they are like

I will update as things progress

Eager this morning to get down and crack the pot (so to speak)
VERY disappointed though
The casts are as clear as Crystal NO bubbles or blemishes at all, the problem being the paper I used to print on has literally gone transparent

I did what everyone suggested by glueing the paper to the tube, letting it dry, sealing the paper and letting that dry.
Then poured the acrylic (slowly).

I know this is my first attempt but was hoping for better results

Yes, the mix and pour certainly looked spot on.
The casting was crystal clear and no major issues apart from the paper literally went see through and looked like brass when it should of been white.
Reading some of the older threads, it looks like Acrylic Paint on the tube is the way to go (PLEASE tell me that is right!)
I will go and get some white and have another go next weekend, very busy with work next week so no playing for me during the week

Yes, acrylic paint will work. Don't try powder coated tubes as PR doesn't like them.

Next problem you'll find is that PR doesn't really like labels either. You'll get a 50% failure rate or close to it ..... But you will learn :wink:
