Finally took the plunge and attempting my first casting. Bit of a learning curve. Afraid I may have put in a little to much red dye, would it affect the curing time?

Its the castin craft pigment that I got off amazon. Just checked on them now, all set pretty good but the red is a bit sticky yet. Only been about 6 hours since I mixed them. Hopefully will set fully.

Good effort Mick, for better results do away with round moulds and go with oblong ones or squares .. The colours mix better and don't just run into each other ..

Next on my project list is to make some square blanks! Its a steep learning curve, but really enjoying it.

I have cast in tubes as well as blocks. With the tubes it depends on how you did the pour as well as if you stirred it. When I do stir I put the stirrer in and rotate one way and when I remove it keep the rotation the same way and do it slowly. The blanks when they come out of the moulds can look like yours but once turned will surprise you but then that is the fun of casting your own.
