Not the best thing to ever come out of the shed, but the point was to turn something. And as I had some rebar out I decided to have a go at a suspended box. Nowt fancy, bit of Ash and some brazed steel. I forgot how much I loved turning.

I bet it felt good to turn something again. I like the ash box and the main support but not sure about the lid handle especially the brazing as it sticks out a bit too much for me that is

Not too late to spray the Rebar mate on the other hand why not leave it as befitting the nature of the piece. I enjoyed this so much mate.

I really like that Brody. I know you've talked it down and said its just a quick nonsense to get you back to the lathe, but I can think of at least two RPT's who would nick that idea in a heartbeat and flog it for several hundred quid. They'd probably burnish the bar though. A copper brush in a drill brings it up a treat.

Thanks very much Phil. Complement indeed sir. I see what you're saying about burnishing the bar. It's not something I'd thought of as I usually try to keep the material as honest as possible to what it is. This is the first suspended form I've been happy with, as the proportions are usually way off when I've done them before. Going to have a bit of an explore into doing more metal/wood turnings I think. And if you have the details of these RPT'S, I'd be happy to sell them the plans:wink:
