After making the rollerball pens I wasn't looking forward to making the F/P so of we go working end bushes a perfect fittings one end on one to small and the other end on the other top end crap first the same bushes were to tight I had to use pliers to get them out the fittings on one were to tight on the other to loose by now I'm ready to bin them but the wood I had chosen for them was to good to bin these two I used Camatillo Rosewood and Thuya burr needless to say I wont be buying them again and dont tell me they are all made in the same place I think they were bits from every corner of the world just thrown together

Thank you Jim when you doing yours LOL

When i get my lean-to finished .. Looks like it will be this weekend, i got my little lathe in today, now i am in the process of transferring equipment out of the shed .. I have been in some right positions this week, positions that young lads would find it difficult to get in ... I had problems getting out of them though ...

Woody,

Agree with you about these kits, they're crap and the bling is almost fake in appearance as well. Dont like em and they dont sell!

Did you get the Camatillo from Kirk at Exotic Hardwoods in Chapel en le Frith?

Take a guess
Now you say about the kits & bushes I realise the bushes I had trouble with & had to get machined out were from the same place as your kits & like you I had to remove the bushes with pliers when I'd finished turning the pens.

I also noticed that the plastic bags they came in had Axminster bar code stickers on them & compared with TB they weren't that cheap either, oh well lesson learned.

That said you've still pulled the rabbit out of the hat & produced 2 lovely pens :claps::claps:

Excellent pens woody.

Anyone know the difference between the empress and emporer pens?

I still have a few emporer pen kits and was looking at the empress as another alternative.
