Thank you all, This wood was a gem to use after most of the wood I turn is on its last legs, trying to get it where its got most figuring in it.

Pens made to this standard do grow on trees captured as they are meant to and improved by this design, both great to work with and displayed to show this. Good ones Paul.

Yes bog standard Phil. I just make them slightly longer than the tube and mount them on the mandrel the same as normal. Turn the top down to the diameter you want ( I don't every measure anything as it adds to the uniqueness) and then turn the bottom half to slightly less, I guess about an 1/8th. Turn the top where the clip button goes over at the corner and slightly where the top meets the bottom and then the nib end down to the correct diameter for the normal slimline to the bushing. Job done.
