Woody, I'm sorry you had hassles with these blanks. The Ash blank was cut from a log with some significant checking. I tried to avoid it but there was most likely a hairline crack I missed. The shark problem is obvious to me when I look at your photo but I missed it when I cut the plugs. The grain runs top to bottom when it should run nose-to-tail, so the plug cracked as I tapped it into the blank. Sorry again - it was a momentary lapse in concentration.
