Hi, I am having my first go at a really simple segment, just a piece of acrylic at an angle. I think on one of them I haven't mixed enough hardener in the resin, it is still tacky several hours later. Is there a trick or should I start again, I was thinking of warming it up maybe, so airing cupboard or microwave !

Heating it up wont help. The only thing that might trigger a cure is exposure to strong UV light. If the reaction hasnt occured by now then, as you are segmenting, you should strip it apart and start again as the polymer chains will not have formed and the glue will not have bonded correctly to the surfaces and if that is designed to be flying around at a couple of thou rpm, - no thanks!

Thanks Neil, I read about polymer chains, heat and uv on wikipedia, but my 40year old chemistry O level (fail) wasn't really up to it. Its funny that I'm bothered over 20pence worth of wood and plastic, it's more about the knowledge ! Thanks for your help.

Terry I always seek out epoxy glue from a busy outlet looking for fresh glues my problem with epoxy is to glue up before it sets partly so yes it is critical to mix it evenly, have success mate.

Kind regards Peter.
