Today's efforts two Chrome Sierra in Snakewood :rolling:

I suppose the snakewood should have been used on a more upmarket pen but this was my first go with snakewood and I have heard some horror stories about it breaking out, chipping etc so I thought, play it safe do a sierra two at once then if one breaks out I still have a chance of getting the other completed.

The snakewood blank was kindly sent / donated to me by Edlea, yet another forum superhero. Thanks Ed

Billy I think you have produced two very nice well finished pens, but I do not see why there is so much drooling and orgasms about snakewood.

I think you have a fair point there Robin, they don't look anything too special when you compare them next to some of the other woods I have used this weekend.

Well done Billy two nice pens there mate, I too don't overrate the wood.
Having done some recently was not impressed with the way they looked or the way they split after a couple of days.
I hope yours stay together OK.

Snake wood is like any other expensive wood it is graded the top quality is the one every one raves over and pay a small fortune for why I will never understand then there are the lower grades which normally sells cheaper Billys pens are not made of top quality Snakewood but non the less you can see that it is just about

A lovely pair of pens Billy, well turned and finished. The wood is nice but in my opinion there are much nicer woods.
