I haven't used that model but have used other ½ face masks, I hate them as they are uncomfortable, hot and freakin awful to wear. I only use these if I am using White ant poison or similar.

I am thinking of buying a Dust begone mask foe when I turn pens.

I use the 3m 4251 for sanding or when turning spalted woods they can be uncomfortable and sweaty but its got to be better than getting your lungs clogged up with sawdust I have used several of the full face mask but find they are to heavy for my old neck injury

Turners retreat sell them I had one years ago and they are good they dont make you sweaty but they do retain the water in your breath and get damp inside they are also washable and last for years
