I think you will find that most pen refills come with a set length so all the off the shelf kits would be limited to them being in the same place.

However if you made a very short pen then it would be at the clip end naturally..:winking:

Don't let the refill length restrict your own imagination tho, there are some nice slimline longwood pens you could make.
