Very nice Paul I started making one up boy dose it stink

It certainly does Woody, it produces a lot of fumes but fortunately I've got a respirator and don't suffer from it nowadays.

Really like this pen Paul, how do you reckon it would look with shavings mixed with resin, or can you see a problem with that

The only reason I haven't done it Cookie is that I don't do anything with resin otherwise I'm sure I would have. It will probably be much easier and less messy with resin too.

So how do you do that then? Any shavings, wood or acrylic? I'm intrigued

I believe the phrase round here is to ask for a tutorial?

I keep a pot of the bits I've drilled, turned and sometimes swept off the floor. I then put some thick/medium ca on the end of a tube about 1cm and cover that in as much shavings/sawdust as I can. This isn't usually a lot but then I use some thin ca to soak it and spray with activator. I then just keep building it up until the tube is covered and thick enough to turn. The problem is that because the shavings aren't compressed onto the tube there are lots of holes so when I'm not far off the finishing width, I fill in all the holes. Somtimes you might knock out a chunk but just fill that back in too. At the end I sand it and give it a few layers of ca and polish. Simples!
