I have tried Peter, but my last attempt had to many bubbles, even after getting a sonic bath I think it was caused by the pigment powder foaming as it was stirred in also it was very brittle when I tried to turn it, I think if I try again I might try a different type of resin but might wait until next year when it gets warmer again

Did you put the MEKP in before you mixed the powder in? I never do as it always takes quite a while to get the powders mixed properly. You could try pigment pastes they are much easier to mix in.

Lot's of people put the MEKP in first and powders after and it turns out okay, but I prefer the extra time taken to mix them in properly before adding the MEKP it also allows more time for bubbles to rise.

Hi Broadsea, welcome to the forum. I'm sure that you'll be making lovely pens in no time at all with lots of help from the members on this forum. How about telling us a bit about yourself? Start a new thread in the 'Introduce yourself Thread'? Introduce Yourself to Penturners Forum

I used to know a diver that owned a pub on the front in Frazerburgh; Pat Macbane but unfortunately I can't remember the name of it, I was always too drunk when I was there.

You should do well with those Roy, not only are Sierras reasonably straight forward and quick to make but they also look good and sell reasonably easily. Good luck.
