a few new omegas

Here are a few Omegas that i made over the past 2 days. Wenge, Brazilian bloodwood, Pink Ivory, Padauk, Pink Ivory again and Irish Bog Oak. No CA used, Sanded sealed then danish oil and a rubbing of wax.

Hi Stephen,

The wenge body like if it needed a bit more sanding. I can see the grain not sanded out. Wenge is a b****r to sand out clean. I know, I have made one. Next time sand to 600 grit, seal and sand again to 600 grit. It may need two or three attempts to achieve a reasonable finish. I used CA glue on the top coats, I think I done four coats and wet sanded down to 12000 grit. You will get a lovely glass finish on your wenge pen with the dark grain showing up as blackish.

Very nice set of pens. If I am really being picky a couple of them look just a fraction undersize, but it may be the pictures. What really matters is how they look in the hand.

Hi Kelvin, I know what you mean. I usually do as you say but with these I wanted a rougher more natural look. I didn't explain that in my initial post. I wanted to be able to feel the wood.
