Nice selection Glen, looking good to me apart from the second one and the last one..

There looks to be a small gap between the centre bands.

Not sure if it the picture or if it's for real.may be a shadow or if the centre is off set and not squared correctly.:nooidea:

Thanks for your comments.
I have checked the two pens and they are perfect. I think what you are seeing is my blue marker pen mark that I used on the two halves of the wood to help me to set up matching the grain on assembling the pen.
What do others use for marking the wood.

The wood grain.
Technically yes..

What do others use for marking the wood.

I use a black sharpie to mark the blank in the middle prior to drilling, glueing the tubes and mounting on the lathe.

Once the tubes are glued in (squared and cleaned out.) I put a little line mark on the inside if the tube corresponding with the mark I put on prior to drilling and gluing. Again using a sharpie. And yes the tip will go inside a 7mm tube..:face:

I never mark the wood after the initial mark that will get turned off..

If that makes sense... If not then I'm lost also..:funny:

Nice bit of design in these, a bit of a variation on the slimline. I also like the little added detailing on the last one. I second Silvers marking method, it works for me.
