I saw the physio yesterday & was recommended to have a joint replacement in my right shoulder as the pain is very severe & is curtailing my arm movement due to severe arthritis. Due to my lack of sight most things have to be lifted & held to within an inch of my eyes to use my magnifier to read or see anything legible so I’m having problems at present. I’m waiting for a referral but I don’t suppose it’ll be anytime soon.:sob:

Wow I feel deeply for you mate. I went through a tough heart procedure yesterday that required my arms stretched over head for two long sessions without moving. In between other things like nuclear injections etc. On the second time through and the last session as soon as the main camera sessions finished I screamed, the pain was excruciating, then they fed me right into a solid tunnel twice. I am tall and arms back and shoulders scrunched only just made it in and out. Apparently I have osteo arthritus in the shoulders to add to my increasing list. The machine looks like a normal scanner on steroids with two fat Cameras? in a v shape outside the tunnel that take pics? at right angles all round the body. It was called a chemical induced stress test, sure worked on me. Four hours of the worst.

This pain you suffer I understand mate, take care Bill,

Peter.

Thank you Peter. It sounds like you were in a war zone of your own yesterday. I do hope it was worth it & it gives you relief.
This growing old lark certainly carries some penalties. Take care Peter.

Best of luck with it Bill. I am pretty much in a similar situation but it's my knees that are a problem. I had my right knee replaced about 8 years ago and after only 12 months I had to have further surgery as it was not right. It's got gradually worse and I saw the Consultant a fortnight ago and he has suggested that I need a Revision Replacement which is a longer and more complicated procedure than the initial replacement. On top of that my left knee is completely knackered and needs a full replacement. I am waiting for a Bone Scan and then it looks like a painfull 2018 :sob:

Hi Vic, thanks for your best wishes.
I know you were in severe pain when I saw you at Coventry.
Best of luck with the surgery when it happens. Let’s hope it happens soon.:praying:

Bill, I do hope it all goes well for you and you don’t have to wait too long. They really do some amazing things these days. With a bit of luck you will be bionic and functioning again before you know it.
Best Wishes
Allen

Hope it's not too long for you to wait Bill.
I'm putting my knee off as long as physically possible, old age is a bugger :sob:

At least you're past the first hurdle of getting to see a consultant in the current climate where you're forced to go down various other cheaper routes before eventually getting to that stage.
I would be the last to knock our health service but the practice of paying GP practices to delay referral is not nice!

Which day are you going to Harrogate btw?

I haven’t heard yet but I’ll let you know when I find out Bob. It’ll be great to see you. Keith & Jim will be there as well as the other guys so it should be a good get together. My friend John Hodgson is coming down from Mull as well.

Hope all works out well Bill and that you don't have to wait to long before it happens. And when it does it is a short recovery
