I see these kits in Helens ebay shop the Graduate and thought I would try them the kit is very well engineered all metal parts with a spring loaded clip but the cap end is magnetic and to me the magnet isn't strong enough I can imagine the cap will come of in your pocket I gave it a gentle shake and it come apart not good
Also I'm not keen on the look of the pen it looks like it belongs in my tool box with the scalpels but that is only my personal preference they will go in my collection never to see daylight again LOL

the first one is dressed in Messnate Gum

The kit would have some appeal except for the gnarling which I don't like on both and the shortness of the nib end on the fountain pen but you've made them look fantastic as usual Woody.

I agree with you Woody, i doubt that i would be buying any of these kits either .. The best part that i do like is the extra length of the bottom barrel, which will help show off a nice piece of wood..

Nothing wrong with the turning though my friend ..

Was looking at these a week or so ago, wasn't sure about the look, and agree that the shape is a wee bit clinical. Even with the high grade timber used they still look a bit odd. That said, it doesn't retract from the standard of turning mate.

If you say they're crap then that's good enough for me Woody. The standard of turning and finishing goes without saying as usual.

Woody,

Thanks for that review, you have just saved me from buying some from the manufacturer, it looked good but their photos were misleading!!
