Umguzi is a variant of Umiguli, an Australian tree with a huge amount of thorns and which grows in solitide miles from other trees. The only roosting place for birds for miles around, so they have to use it. The name (in typically Australian descriptive fashion) is derived from the sound that the male birds make when they come in to land on the thorny branches.
