Hear, hear. Well done Neil - a very worth recipient. We shall all have to mind our Ps and Qs from now on, use our gouges correctly, and make sure there are no dimples in the middle at the bottom of our bowls.

Thank you chaps! It was a quick application process (11 1/2 months):funny:

Well done Neil.

Does that mean a haircut and collar and tie to work?

Do you honestly think I would have applied if a haircut was involved!

It is collar and tie if you are representing the Register at an event where you're not turning though!:goesred:

Several of each and 5 suits Derek.
Unfortunately as the NHS has spent thousands of pounds turning me from a healthy smoker into a fat old pill popper, I will need to buy anew! Better that than dead though. I tried it and I really didn't like it!:whistling::funny:

I've got the T shirt piled on the lbs but have now lost 2 1/2 stone so far. Like you don't want to try it again

Speaking in hyroglyphics (may as well) Derek I too would like to congratulate Neil. I looked up RPT on friend Google and if my supposition is correct it applies to Neil as Register of Professional Turners.

If so wonderful news Neil, congratulations. Can you add the initials to your name as well?

Kind regards Peter.

Yes Peter you have the correct organisation. I can use RPT after my name and display the badge of the Worshipful Company of Turners, who support the register, on my work wear.

Ah you saved me a job thanks.... and so now I can say congratulations... does this entitle the the proud owner of this title to take their sheep across London Bridge on a bank holiday Tuesday?

I don't know about "RPT," and I don't even know what the hell a "Neil Lawton" is, but if you are potentially a "horrible warning," I sense that you should catch a flight to Upper New York State for a visit. Bring your membership card. You are going to be very happy in the land of "horrible warnings!"

Congratulations on your honor. (Sorry, Phil - no "u" in "honor" from this side.) Good for you, sir!
