Having one of these nights.. should have given up when my barrel trimmer shaft would not fit.. trouble sanding a pen bodged the ca finish.. 2 hours to get to that stage.. left the shed fuzzing.. Will have to resand next time in the shed.. been desperate to get my hands on this blank so being extra careful.. best pack it in before regret it..

You did the best thing walking away. Next time will probably be a lot better. Treat them like any other blank & relax, being up tight doesn't help.

A lesson for me came whilst in the Army and using weapons apply a firm hold relaxing the squeeze when when firing improved the aim and accuracy when turning dont go white knuckle with the chisel the lightest touch sometimes the difference between success and failure.
