My wife came up with the idea of inlaying stars on three adjacent sides of a blank to create a 'field of stars'. SWMBO MBO'ed right, so I got on with it. three attempts landed in pieces on the workshop floor, so in desparation I went hunting in my 'exotics' box and found a piece of Red Cedar which was a gift from Uncle Jim. Not hoping for much, I set about it.

WOW! Stunner ... so much so that I toyed with the idea of making a run of five and selling them as numbered limited edition objets d'art entitled 'Red Sky at Night'. Fortunately sanity prevailed after I had a nap, but I still think this pen looks the biz. What do you think?

David,

The stars at night are big and bright deep in the heart of Basingstoke, glad you followed Rule 1 Listen to the wife. Neat plan that did come together like it a lot.

Kind regards Peter.

With ideas that good the sooner we persuade your wife to join the forum the better

Ummm, Mike ... How to say this tactfully ... Are you OFF YOUR ROCKER?!?! If you think Terry can blab for England, he is positively taciturn by comparison with the Lady of my Acquaintance (LOMA). She'll be a Lecturer in a week, and hit a personal 20,000 tally within a month or so ... I often tell her she's perfect with just one lack - a volume control or a mute button!

Mind you, she makes more sense most of the time than I do ...
