I tuned a acetate pen polished it a came out looking good two days later developed a indent like its been stretched
Now how to repair is ca on acetate any good or a drop of apoxy any ideas?:sob:

Hi Barry

As far as I know the cellulose acetate is "wound" as a tube and the seam can separate for a couple of reasons.

While drilling out (if needed) the drill bit can snatch a little as it tends to overheat and it weakens or splits the join. Too much heat generated whilst turning or sanding / polishing the tube also weakens it.

I managed to unravel half a length when drilling out but managed to CA it on to the tube and it worked well, and....that's how I know these things :goesred::funny:

You have to be careful with this material but well worth the effort.
