I have had a blank sent me to have a look at and give my honest feed-back.

They were supplied from quality woodworking tools.com which is HERE

The company are owned by Chronos, they have quite a good reputation in the metal turning fraternity so I thought it was worth sharing with you and then you can make your own mind up.

When I first held them I thought I had seen them before.. and yes I have, so rooted through my stash and low and behold they are very close to the ones Timberbits sell.

Timberbits
Price is $2.50 AUD
Length 130mm
Width 20mm x 20mm

Chronos
Price is £2.09
Length 150mm
Width 16mm x 16mm

As you can see there are differences in blank sizes. I understand that they are a Craftpro kits blank.

Not made any up yet of the Chronos but can see they will be the same quality of the TB ones.

Hope you find it useful

The Craftpro kits blanks are widely available, imported and distributed, as has been said above. I may have got it wrong but I thought most knew of them prior to posting this thread.

However, the reason for the post was to show the different sizes as some of you may not have noticed and then find its a different size when you get it.

The smaller blanks are OK but limits you to what you can turn being 4mm thinner.

I don't really see much benefit it being 150mm, there are only a few kits that need the longer blanks that the TB one wouldn't cater for.

They are ideal for two piece kits and gives you a little bit of spare for key rings or the like to match.

Thought it was worth sharing tho.

I can see nothing on the GPS website that resembles the Craftpro blanks.

Or is that not what you meant? :nooidea:

They're there Walter, the Run Wild Polyester Blanks, the Series M blanks feature one of the white line acrylic blanks, the Shockwave blanks on the Ax website have one or two featured, They aren't all on both websites but Axminster have probably nabbed some for exclusive sales. I had a long shat with the guy from GPS Agencies whose name I cant remember, and I cant find his card, at the AWGB seminar at Loughborough a couple of years ago and he told me that they were the main supplier to Axminster and their resellers.

Interesting Neil, thanks for that. Useful to know these things.
